An automatic review request allows you to automatically send a review (or photo/video) request from each customer within a certain time period after they place their order.

πŸ“Note: The Automatic Review Requests tab has moved. Click the Where to Find Automatic Review Requests link below, before continuing.

Here's how you'd set up a campaign to automatically ask customers for photos and videos after their orders:

1. Go to Requests in the left-hand menu.

2. Click Automatic.

3. Click + New Auto Request Campaign.

4. Name your campaign.

5. Complete the sections

  1. What To Request

  2. Incentives

  3. When To Send

  4. Message Customization

What To Request

You can choose the primary goal of your request to be Reviews or Photos & Videos.

If you want reviews, leave the default option enabled. Customers can also submit photos/videos as part of their review.

If you don't want reviews and only want photos and/or videos submitted as part of this request, choose the 'Photos & Videos' option.

Incentives

You can attach 3 types of incentives for customers that submit content through this review request:

Discount on Future Orders

For all platforms, you can offer discounts/coupons in exchange for their submission. This discount can be used on future orders.

β€‹πŸ“ Note: Discounts are ONLY auto-generated for Shopify users. For other platforms, these discount settings aren't generated automatically and are used for display purposes.

Loyalty Points (with Smile.io)

If you're running a loyalty points program with Smile.io, then you can offer loyalty points in exchange for their submission.

πŸ“ Note: You have to download Smile.io for this functionality to work.

Cash-back (Shopify Only)

If you're running a Shopify store, you can offer cash-back to certain customers in exchange for their submission.

When to Send

You can configure when this email/message will trigger and send to customers.

We recommend the default setting of 14 days after the order is fulfilled.

πŸ“ Note: Set the number of days to wait equal to the average amount of time it takes for someone to "use" your product.

For example, if you're selling a book that takes 60 days to read, set the wait time period to 60 days so the customer can finish reading the book before you ask for a review.

Conditions

You can have the review request message only be sent based on certain conditions related to order or customer attributes. Below is an example:

Here, both conditions need to be satisfied in order to send the review request:

  • The total amount of the order needs to be more than 20 USD

  • The customer's country is Canada

Exclude Products

You can exclude products from being reviewed by updating your Store Settings.

To do that, click the button under the When to Send tab

It will take you to this page

Set up your exclusions here.

Repeat Orders

If you have repeat orders, you can choose to ask for a review or not for the same purchased product.

Simply toggle the On Repeat Orders switch to Off if you don't want to ask again; it will no ask again for the next 12 months.

If you toggle it to On:

  1. If the product purchased in order is already reviewed by this customer, no review request will be sent

  2. If the product purchased in order is NOT reviewed by this customer, review requests will be sent always until the product gets reviewed.

Message Customization

In this section, you will see a simple editor that will allow you to change the customer's messages.

Follow-up (2nd) Message

You can turn on a 2nd follow-up message that will automatically trigger a certain time after the first message is sent if the customer still has not submitted any review through the review request.

Launching

7. Choose to Test, Launch, or Save a draft of your campaign.

Once you're ready to launch your automatic review request, hit the 'Launch' button.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Use the 'Test' button to test sending the review request message before you launch it, so you know everything looks perfect.

After the review request is launched then Fera will automatically start sending messages to customers after each order.

Fera won't send messages to past customers, however. To send to past customers, create a One-time Review Request instead.
